SDGP Maize farming documentary Film

In Rwanda, aflatoxin contamination led to the rejection of 90% of maize, prompting the need for imports and impacting local farmers' profits.

The Sustainable Development Goals Partnership (#SDGP) Maize project introduced the cob model to enhance efficiency. Supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, it aims to reduce post-harvest losses, eliminate aflatoxin contamination and empower maize cooperatives.

Through cooperative trainings, advisory and working on good agricultural practices, technical and management knowledge has been improved at 15 maize cooperatives.

The SDGP Maize project has positively impacted farmers' lives.

The project partners include Africa Improved Foods (AIF), Agriterra, Sight and Life and the Rwandan Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources.
